New BUILDING

The Redwood Empire Chinese Association needs your support! Our organization intends to build a multi-cultural center to serve as the home for the services and programs we offer. We are currently raising funds to help us build a cultural center to serve the greater Sonoma County Community. Our goal is to raise $1.5 million, and we have raised $1 million so far, which only leaves $500,000 more. Please make a tax-deductible donation to help us achieve our goal and enrich our community. Rest assured that your donation will be used solely to help us build our cultural center for the good of the community.

About the Multi-Cultural Center

The RECA hopes to build a Multi-Cultural Center for the following activities:

• Language classes in both Mandarin and Cantonese, for beginning, intermediate and advanced students
• Lion dance and other cultural dance classes
• Chinese music lessons and music appreciation classes
• Chinese cooking classes
• Painting and calligraphy classes
• Cultural festivals
• Social gatherings
• Resource Center

Our organization currently provides our community some of the services listed above. Unfortunately, with the spaces currently available to us we are not able to accommodate all who wish to participate. The Multi-Cultural Center will enable us to greatly expand the services offered, and reach even more people within the community.

The RECA believes that Sonoma County's interest in the Chinese culture, history, and heritage will continue to grow. For many years our organization has recognized the need for a cultural center in our community. Dr. and Mrs. H. C. Wang, two strong supporters of RECA, recognized this need as well. They made a generous contribution which allowed our association to obtain a site suitable for a community center. This important first step has been taken. We now need your help to build the Multi-Cultural Center, and bring these important services to our community.
